Claudia is 59 years old. She was diagnosed with Grade 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in April 2015 and had a total mastectomy. She is a part time home health aide but has been unable to work due to surgeries and treatments. She is struggling with her day-to-day expenses but has support from her family.

GRANTED $434.99 FOR UTILITIES & CAR INSURANCE

Nicole is a 34 year old mother of one. She was diagnosed with Grade 2 Invasive Carcinoma with Predominately Ductal features. Her FMLA will run out in September and her disability pay will not start until December. She asked for assistance with her car insurance so she can get back and forth to her appointments.

GRANTED $1,292.39 FOR MORTGAGE

Maura is a 53-year-old mother of three. She was diagnosed with Metastatic Carcinoma in May 2015. She was employed part time but is currently unable to work due to an injury. Maura and her husband are struggling financially due accumulating medical bills. They are currently “hand to mouth” and are trying to stay afloat financially.

GRANTED $750 FOR RENT

Sheeneatha is 54 years old. She is employed as a nursing assistant but has been unable to work due her treatments/illness. She was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in April 2015. Sheeneatha is struggling financially as money is “very, very tight”. She is trying to keep her head above water with prayer and family support.

GRANTED $1,051.70 FOR MORTGAGE

Colleen is a 36 mother of two. In 2014, while seven months pregnant with her second child, Colleen received the horrific news that she had Stage III Aggressive Breast Cancer. She was a newlywed with a young child. She was blind sighted and shocked by the diagnosis. She immediately started Chemotherapy but took a break to deliver her healthy baby. Her treatment and surgeries resumed after her baby was born. Colleen’s husband uses FMLA to assist her and the kids, but they have no income when he misses work. They are struggling with their daily expenses.

MALINDA H.

GRANTED $390 FOR RENT

Malinda is 59 years old. Several years ago her aggressive battle with Leukemia went into remission and she began to start her life over again. She was only able to work part time but this gave her the opportunity to come close to making ends meet. In June 2015, Malinda was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Initially, the news did not burden her until she started missing work. Instead of focusing on her health and therapy, Malinda was worried about how she was going to make ends meet. “It seemed like deja vu all over again”. Overall, Malinda is thankful for the spiritual and emotional support she has received!

GRANTED $250 GIFT CARD FOR NUTRITION/FOOD

Susan is 55 years old. Once upon a time, Susan had good health and a wonderful job. In April 2014, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She worked a few days a week at first but then went out on FMLA. In January 2015, she received notice from her employer she would be let go at the end of the month. Fortunately she was able to keep her medical insurance until August 2015. Susan’s family was helping her financially. “Luckily I have church to keep me sane and calm”. Susan hopes for a happy ending and is thankful for all the life lessons and wonderful people she has meet on this journey.

GRANTED $1000 FOR RENT

Annette is 57 years old. Her husband is diagnosed with MDS and has been undergoing treatment for years; therefore he is not able to work. In February 2015, Annette was diagnosed with Grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She tried to continue to work at first but her job was too physically demanding. In Sept. 2015, Annette had a mastectomy and is still unable to work. They continue to struggle financially.

GRANTED $1,580.45 FOR MORTGAGE

Heather is a 40-year-old mother of three. Life was rolling along just fine until Heather’s message therapist noticed an unusual lump and suggested she get it checked. In July 2015, Heather had her first mammogram and then received the “terrible call” where she learned she had breast cancer. She has been diagnosed with Grade 2-3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Heather considered herself “a pretty tough girl” after a horrible divorce that resulted in financial issues. She pulled through that and made a good life for herself and her boys. Heather was not prepared for that phone call and her world was turned upside down. Heather has a demanding sales position but had to go out on FMLA. After her treatments and surgeries, Heather will return back to work in March 2016. “I am everything to my kids. I will do my best to be strong and have faith and be around for a very long time for my sons”!

Sandra is 69 years old. In October 2014 she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She has undergone numerous treatments and surgeries. Sandra’s husband also has health issues and their medical bills have put a financial strain on them. Sandra is grateful for any assistance.

Kari is a 48-year-old mother of one. In January 2015 she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and has been on a journey since. She was employed in home health care but has had to quit due to her appointments and procedures. Kari has had minor complications and has been in and out of the hospital. This has led Kari to struggle financially, which has caused great stress.

Mary is a 52-year-old mother of two. In March 2015, Mary was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She has not been able to work resulting in their income taking a big hit. Mary would like to concentrate on being cancer free and getting well, rather then worrying if they can pay their bills.

Dallas is a 34-year-old mother of three. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in March 2015. The diagnosis has her body going through so many changes. She has been in so much pain that she can no longer work. She is a newlywed and they are struggling with their utilities and rent.

She was terminated from her employment due to her illness. She was the breadwinner for the family since her husband was laid off in 2005 due to a chronic back injury. This hardship has left the family in a “pickle”.
